The film: The Hidden Face of The Earth
ABOUT THE FILM
Dimitri loves to photograph, but for years, images have been slipping away due to his eventual blindness. As he captures objects, the film camera captures him, and along the way, he encounters friends, lovers, and strangers. Imaginations and gazes overlay, where, through his photographs, he invites you to discover ‘The Hidden Face of The Earth’.
The panel:
After the film, join us for a panel discussion exploring the intersection of queerness, disability, and art. We will examine how artists, curators, and institutions address accessibility, systemic ableism, and the representation of disability in film and other art forms.
Panelists:
Tone Ottilie (they/she)
Tone is a filmmaker and writer. They are educated from the National Film School of Denmark, have had work selected to the Berlinale and published two novels.
Katrine Skovsgaard (they/them)
Katrine is an artist and researcher who activates lived
experiences of pain and other bodily experiences through art. Skovsgaard primarily works with tactile rug installations, embroidery inspired by migraine auras and sound and music pieces inspired by conversations with people who experience or work professionally with chronic headaches.
Elias (he/they)
Elias has a rare eye disorder called Achromatopsia and loves using his lack of colour perception in his artwork.He's not good at staying in one lane and also loves trying different media, everything from drawing to sewing to sculptures. His house is therefore stuffed with materials and projects he might get back to one day
Sarah Glerup (she/her)
Sarah holds an MA in Film and Media Studies, specialising in disability representation in film and television. She is a disability rights and LGBTQ+ activist whose work spans academia, politics and artistic expression, including illustration. A former programmer for MIX Copenhagen, and currently works as a freelance consultant on disability representation across film, media and the arts
